Investment Will Transform AGCO’s Largest Parts Warehouse

ENNERY, France, January 7^th, 2024 – AGCO Corporation (NYSE: AGCO), a global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of agricultural machinery and precision ag technology, has unveiled plans to build a new world-class Parts Distribution Centre (PDC) in Amnéville (les Portes de l’Orne) just 12 kms from its historical Ennery site, on the outskirts of Metz (Moselle), France. AGCO is finalising the development scheme worth a total investment of approximately €87 million. As part of the site, AGCO’s approximately €17 million low-emission, sustainable facility will primarily serve Europe and the Middle East (EME) and be the Master Depot for supplying parts into North America, South America and Asia Pacific from Europe.

By investing in this new logistics platform, intended to be operational by the end of 2026, AGCO is reaffirming and celebrating 30 years of its strong local roots in the Metz metropolitan area while taking advantage of this strategic location.

The PDC will span 84,000m² under roof on an approximately 200,000m² site.

Strategic Relocation and Optimization of Operations
Over the past 30 years, the Ennery site has expanded to accommodate the growth of AGCO and its leading brands: Fendt®, Massey Ferguson®, PTx and Valtra®. The new facility will continue to serve all AGCO brands by consolidating five facilities into one operation with enhanced environmental, safety and operational excellence, including 24/7 ecommerce parts ordering for dealers and farmers. AGCO will also utilize leading-edge technologies, including the most advanced scanning equipment and automated storage and packaging systems to boost order fulfillment.

In our new industry-leading and efficient operation, this talented team will have the ability to manage more than five million order lines annually, ensuring urgent parts delivery to better serve our EME dealers and ultimately maximize machine uptime for our farmers.”

The new PDC is designed to meet the most stringent safety standards, focusing on the continued improvement of ergonomics and the working comfort of operators, including the automation of certain operations. The office areas within the facility will also promote a collaborative and efficient work environment.

A Low-Emission, Sustainable Facility
Sustainability is top of mind for the project. Equipped with solar panels on the entire roof, it will produce renewable energy to help power operations including automated processes, air conditioning and recharging of electric vehicles.

“The low-emission facility will use renewable electricity, renewable heating from the metropolitan area hot water supply and the entire fleet of material handling equipment will be electric,” said Gehl. “We are proud to create a flagship, sustainable facility for AGCO, which contributes to the company’s global commitment to reduce Scopes 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2033.”

In addition to energy considerations, the area is predicted to have high water stress by 2030, which increases the importance of water stewardship. Rainwater will be harvested at the new site by collecting, filtering, storing and reusing rainwater for cleansing areas and sanitary usage, ensuring efficient use and conservation for freshwater resources.

Additionally, the relocation to Amnéville (Les Portes de l’Orne) will contribute to revitalizing an area that has been vacant for more than a decade, starting with soil decontamination, followed by recultivation and minimizing artificial land coverage. AGCO will also plant nearly 200 trees at the new location, further improving biodiversity and quality of life in the workplace.
