Important production milestone reinforces Valtra’s manufacturing approach and the importance of AGCO’s investment.

AGCO’s Valtra brand recently marked a major production milestone at its Suolahti, Finland, factory with the completion of its 1,000th continuously variable transmission (CVT), which are integral parts of its popular tractors like the Valtra A Series pictured here. Commissioned last year as part of a €38 million investment, the expanded CVT facility has quickly demonstrated efficient, high-quality series production.
DULUTH, Ga. | June 1, 2026 | AGCO (NYSE: AGCO), announced that its Valtra® brand has reached an important production milestone at its Suolahti, Finland, factory with the completion of the 1,000th AGCO continuously variable transmission (CVT). Commissioned last year as part of Valtra’s €38 million (approximately $38 million) high‑technology investment, the CVT expansion has quickly proven its capability for efficient, high‑quality series production.
The CVT expansion at the Suolahti transmission plant supports Valtra’s and AGCO’s strategic ambitions to develop and manufacture key powertrain components close to tractor production. In addition to Valtra tractors, AGCO CVT transmissions produced in Suolahti are also used in select AGCO Fendt® and Massey Ferguson® tractors.
Built for Scale and Performance
The expanded CVT facility has rapidly reached a stable and efficient production level. The investment is one of the most significant in Valtra’s history and further reinforces Suolahti’s role as a modern, high‑technology center for tractor manufacturing.
“Series production began approximately one year ago,” said Kullervo Mansikkala, Transmission Plant Manager, Valtra. “Reaching this 1,000th CVT milestone shows that the new Suolahti expansion has achieved its intended performance quickly, with quality, delivery reliability and efficiency fully aligned.”
Made in Finland, Competitive Worldwide
Manufacturing AGCO CVT transmissions in Suolahti reinforces Valtra’s “Made in Finland” promise while increasing vertical integration and production self‑sufficiency. At the same time, the investment provides a strong long‑term platform for competitiveness and continued development of transmission manufacturing in Finland.
“We have created a solid foundation that allows us to scale up and further develop transmission production in close cooperation with AGCO’s global manufacturing network,” Mansikkala concluded.
