DULUTH, Ga. | August 26, 2026 | AGCO (NYSE: AGCO) has begun incorporating recently updated guidance from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on emissions-control systems into engine software updates, with rollouts beginning in Q3 2026 for U.S. farmers. The guidance allows manufacturers to implement less restrictive inducement requirements, and it offers a practical, farmer-focused way to reduce unnecessary downtime tied to these types of interruptions.
The added flexibility can help keep farmers working during critical field operations while allowing more time to diagnose and repair issues related to diesel emissions-control systems.
AGCO will maintain compliance with all emission standards while continuing to provide farmers with the best possible solutions to maximize productivity, enhance operational efficiency and minimize downtime.
The updated software provides more time before derates take effect and lessens the impact of the final derate, preserving limited productive capability where equipment previously could only idle. Installation requires a qualified service technician to connect to the machine, and independent dealers may apply a fee for this service. Customers should contact their AGCO dealer for details regarding this optional update.
