On June 23rd, Ingrid Bußjäger-Martin, Managing Director for Finance and IT Fendt handed over the donation sum of 5,000 Euros to the St. Nikolaus Children's Hospice in Bad Grönenbach at the Fendt Forum.
The St. Nikolaus Children's Hospice is currently the only inpatient hospice for children in Bavaria. There are a total of 16 children's hospices in Germany, but only two of them are inpatient hospices in southern Germany. Currently, eight families can be admitted as inpatients. Since the demand is very high, the children's hospice expanded their outreach with an additional outpatient service for the entire southern German region.
"Children and their families are admitted as soon as they are diagnosed with a terminal illness, and not just in the last months of their lives. With the donations we can guarantee the accommodation of the parents and families of the sick children, which is otherwise unfortunately not covered by health insurance in most cases. So they can still spend the little time together nicely," explains Luisa Miorin, Assistant to the Board of the children's hospice. "In addition, we need donations for water or music therapies, our cuddle room as well as meals for the families and the salary of our hard-working employees. We are very happy about Fendt's donation and thank them very much."
"The children's hospice in Kempten is very close to our hearts. With our donation, we would like to express our great respect to the many people who volunteer their time for their important work and support the children as well as their families during this difficult time," says Ingrid Bußjäger-Martin, Managing Director of Finance and IT Fendt. "To that end, we want to raise awareness of this important issue and emphasize a basic ethical attitude," she adds.
Donations and energetic efforts continue to be needed. In addition to financial support, volunteer helping hands are always needed to accompany the families. The children's hospice even trains volunteers for this in its own academy. Help here:
The children's hospice St. Nikolaus was opened in March 2007 for families with terminally and life-shortening ill children. Initiator, founder and builder is the promotion association child hospice in the Allgäu registered association, which finances together with its 2007 created south German child hospice donation, its child hospice pc. Nikolaus from donations and profits, since there is unfortunately no cost-covering financing for child hospices in Germany. Further information:
