News Releases
TREMONT, Ill. | Jan. 21, 2026 | AGCO (NYSE: AGCO), a global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of agricultural machinery and precision ag technology, announced that it’s Precision Planting® brand revealed new products for both planting and spraying at the PTx™ Winter Conference at the company’s headquarters in Tremont.
The 2026 PTx Winter conference, which runs through Friday, January 23, will showcase the latest in agronomy, technology, and economic research from PTx, the parent company of the Precision Planting and PTx Trimble™ brands.
“Providing farmers with new trial results, the latest in technology research, and a few pages of notes to reference at home is why we host this conference,” said Bryce Baker, Marketing Director at PTx. “This year’s conference continues the 23-year legacy of the Precision Planting Winter Conference and adds the PTx Trimble brand in its 24th year.”
New products introduced include:
- ArrowTube: A seed delivery system that provides accurate spacing at high speed, ArrowTube also orients corn seeds with the tip down to promote even germination and emergence. It also orients the embryo sideways to promote corn leaves that grow across the row to capture maximum sunlight.
- SymphonyVision | Duo: A retrofit sprayer system that uses cameras, concentrate tanks, and a dual nozzle system, SymphonyVision | Duo enables farmers to spot spray contact herbicide and broadcast apply a second tank mix with the sprayer they already own in the same pass.
Product highlights include:
Precision Planting ArrowTube
A highlight of the conference was the launch of Precision Planting ArrowTube, a seed delivery system that controls all aspects of seed placement to help each plant reach its full potential. When corn seeds are planted tip down, with the embryo facing the adjacent row, the radicle root and coleoptile are able to naturally grow up toward the soil surface and down into the soil, along with a strong correlation of leaves growing across the row rather than with the row. ArrowTube uses seed acceleration and strategic friction to orient seeds as they move through a path from the seed meter to the furrow; a knife cuts a narrow sub-furrow into which the seeds land and are held in the proper orientation in the ground. The result is increased yield potential, faster canopy closure, and appropriate spacing at high speeds, along with the most uniform emergence possible.
Precision Planting SymphonyVision | Duo
Farmers know that residual herbicides are important for a complete weed control program. SymphonyVision | Duo uses two SymphonyNozzle systems: The primary nozzle system broadcast applies the primary tank mix while the second nozzle system pulls chemical from the main solution tank, infuses contact herbicide, and then spot sprays this mix where the cameras see weeds. SymphonyVision | Duo maximizes the acres covered by allowing farmers to utilize the full capacity of their main solution tank and does not have per acre fees associated with it.
Precision Planting SmokeRow
Winter Conference attendees also saw a demonstration of a sprayer technology launched at the end of 2025 to help with comprehensive weed control, Precision Planting SmokeRow. Weeds on the edges of fields that are not controlled can go to seed causing an increase in the weed seed bank and more weeds that need to be controlled in the field the following season. SmokeRow adds two nozzles at the end of the boom that spray beyond the boom, controlling weeds in field edges, waterways, terraces and more. SmokeRow pulls chemical from a secondary solution tank, allowing a different tank mix to be sprayed through the SmokeRow nozzles than the rest of the field.
PTx Trimble OutRun
At the 2026 conference, the PTx Trimble OutRun autonomous system was highlighted, showcasing the field efficiency that can be had when a tractor can work in the field autonomously.
“Timeliness matters for every field operation,” said Mike Schlitt, strategic marketing manager, PTx. “Fall tillage that is done immediately after harvest when the weather is warmer leads to more residue breakdown in the fall. and more nutrient availability in the spring.”
“Autonomy can help growers complete their field operations in the timeliest manner possible to hit the optimum agronomic window for each operation,” Schlitt added. OutRun will be available for tillage operations in the fall of 2026 as well as for autonomous grain cart operation.
The 2026 event, which runs daily in Tremont through January 23 and at select remote sites in the USA and Canada, offers attendees the opportunity to hear directly from PTx experts who are sharing insights on improving farming operations through agronomic and technological advancements. 5,000 attendees are expected at the marquee event for the agriculture industry.
